Is there a weight limit for PURAMAX 2?
We recommend a minimum weight of 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) and a maximum weight of 10 kg (22 lbs) to use PURAMAX 2.
Can kittens use PURAMAX 2?
We do not recommend using PURAMAX 2 for kittens or cats weighing less than 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs). If you have both young and adult cats, we suggest enabling Kitten Protection Mode via PETKIT app. This mode disables auto cleaning and periodic cleaning to ensure your kitten’s safety.
How long does a bottle of purifying liquid last?
The duration depends on your cat's litter box usage. Typically, one bottle will last for about 40 to 60 days.
How frequently should I empty the waste container?
Based on PETKIT’s lab results, PURAMAX 2’s 7L waste bin supports up to 15 days of free-scooping for single-cat household. In hot or humid conditions, packing frequency may vary, so you can adjust the waste management cycle as needed.
Where should I place PURAMAX 2?
For accurate weight measurements, PURAMAX 2 should be placed on a hard, level surface. Maintain a distance of at least 5 cm (1.97 in) from walls and ensure that no objects obstruct the entrance.
What types of cat litter should I use for PURAMAX 2?
PURAMAX 2 comes with two litter sifters: Litter Sifter P99022, ideal for larger litter particles like tofu and mixed litter, and Litter Sifter P99023, compatible for finer particles like bentonite and mineral/clay litter. Both work well with most clumping cat litter, but we advise against using litter longer than 12 mm (0.5 in).
How can I prevent the fecal streaking on the cylinder?
Streaking may occur if your cats don't always cover their poops or have soft or watery stools. We recommend using fast, tight-clumping cat litter instead of slow-clumping litter. You can enable Waste Covering Mode in the scooping setup via the PETKIT app, which helps evenly cover waste in cat litter before cleaning cycle to minimize fecal streaking.
How do I train my cat to use PURAMAX 2?
Position the PURAMAX 2 where the previous litter box was located, using the same type of litter. Mix a scoop of the old litter with the new to maintain a familiar scent. Allow waste to accumulate gradually in the old box to ease the transition. To help your cat get accustomed to PURAMAX 2, gently guide them inside when needed. Be patient with sensitive cats that may take longer to adapt to the automatic litter box.
How does PURAMAX 2 ensure my cat's safety?
PURAMAX 2 is crafted with a patented anti-pinch structure to keep the entrance open at all times when the cylinder rotates to a specific angle. PURAMAX 2 is equipped with 11 safety sensors, including advanced proximity and weight sensors. The cat litter box automatically pauses when a cat is nearby or inside the cylinder. Weight sensors ensure the cylinder remains still while your cat is inside until it exits.
Do I need to use PETKIT special waste bags?
Using incorrectly sized or overly thick trash bags might lead to machine abnormalities. Third-party waste bags might be too thick, preventing proper attachment to the ring and affecting the waste container's operation.
Will PURAMAX 2 still work if the connection is lost?
Yes, even without a network connection, PURAMAX 2 will operate according to your preset settings. However, the PETKIT app will not update litter box usage data when the network is lost.
How do I clean PURAMAX 2?
Remove the detachable components of PURAMAX 2 first: the cylinder, magnetic side cover, cat litter remover, litter sifter, and cat litter pad. Then you can wash these components. Wipe the base of the main unit as needed. Do not rinse the base of the main unit with water. Make sure all parts of the products are completely dry before reassembly. Had it just for a few days, but the ease of setting it up initially was amazing. It was straightforward, and it is just about silent when it cleans! My cats weigh the same, so the only bump is inaccurately recording who just used it! I would have appreciated more info on attaching the air purifier. So far so good.

I had a PETKIT. Loved it but it was big, bulky and the scent diffuser quit working. I loved the new design,don't need a camera so bought the PuraMax2.
If there were an easy way to return it, I would.
1) I put the base together with no issue. Was so excited to rotate the drum to put in the litter. No fill line. I have to guess how much litter to add because you can only see the fill line when the drum is down so the cat can enter.
2) You really need a remote. The old controls were at the top. Have to kneel on the floor to work the controls.
3) Scent dispenser. Old one worked when you plugged in the litter box. This needs batteries. Then you use the glue strips to put it on the inside. However, the freshner leaked, the batteries were challenging to get in, and while I was reading the mounting instructions, I smelled something burning. I singed my fingers getting the batteries out.
4) Then I got this plastic thing that only works with a magnetic litter sifter?? I could not figure out the purpose, but put it over my sifter in the drum. All the litter went straight into the waste bin. Took it off. Not sure what I'm supposed to do with it. I guess if you are moving its a quick way to get the litter out?
5) I laughed when I saw the "seal" for the waste container. It's warped. Does not lie flat.
6) Since I REALLY liked my old PetKit, I found a marketing email. Would rather have had a customer service, but you also should not market a rotating drum to add litter if you are not going to put in a fill line. Bottom line. Was hoping for some type of support. No answer. I sent the email 11/23.
7) Now that I have had it for 3 weeks, there is good news, The drum works well. It's noisy, but not a big issue for me. The side waste container works much better than the my old container!
I purchased this for the air purifier, the "sealed" waste bin and the rotating drum to add litter. None of which work correctly.
I gave it a 3 because it does work, I don't smell the litter and I don't have to lift the drum out to clean it.

This litterbox is the best, I love how it weighs the cat entering, the smell is great! It functions well. Only thing is I don’t know how to turn off the auto cleaning feature because it cleans and puts the litter in the trash even when she doesn’t use the bathroom. You will get what you paid for. It doesn’t leak only thing I find that leaks is the air purifier but that’s not a big thing. The design is great! It’s worth its value for your money.
