Is there a weight limit for PUROBOT MAX PRO?
We recommend a minimum weight of 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) and a maximum weight of 10 kg (22 lbs) to use PUROBOT MAX PRO.
Can kittens use PUROBOT MAX PRO?
We do not recommend using PUROBOT MAX PRO for kittens or cats weighing less than 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs). If you have both young and adult cats, we suggest enabling Kitten Protection Mode via PETKIT app. This mode disables auto cleaning and periodic cleaning to ensure your kitten’s safety.
Can PUROBOT MAX PRO’s AI camera rotate?
No. PUROBOT MAX PRO features a fixed-angle camera that specifically monitors your cat’s litter box usage and behaviors inside the cylinder.
How often should I empty the waste bin?
Based on PETKIT lab results, PUROBOT MAX PRO’s 8L waste bin can support up to 17 days free-scooping for a single-cat household. In hot or humid conditions, packing frequency may vary, so you can adjust the waste management cycle as needed.
How should I install a trash bag for PUROBOT MAX PRO?
Step 1: Remove the waste bin lid and refill the trash bag. Step 2: Pull the drawstring of the bag and thread it through the center of the Y-shaped groove. Step 3: Put back the waste bin lid. For detailed instructions, please check out the full tutorial video.
Can I place PUROBOT MAX PRO on a carpet?
For accurate weight measurements, PUROBOT MAX PRO should be placed on a hard, level surface. Maintain a distance of at least 5 cm (1.97 in) from walls and ensure that no objects obstruct the entrance.
What types of cat litter should I use for PUROBOT MAX PRO?
PUROBOT MAX PRO comes with two litter sifters: Litter Sifter P99022, ideal for larger litter particles like tofu and mixed litter, and Litter Sifter P99023, compatible for finer particles like bentonite and mineral/clay litter. Both work well with most clumping cat litter, but we advise against using litter longer than 12 mm (0.5 in).
How can I prevent the fecal streaking on the cylinder?
Streaking may occur if your cats don't always cover their poops or have soft or watery stools. We recommend using fast, tight-clumping cat litter instead of slow-clumping litter. You can enable Waste Covering Mode in the scooping setup via the PETKIT app, which helps evenly cover waste in cat litter before cleaning cycle to minimize fecal streaking.
How do I train my cat to use PUROBOT MAX PRO?
Position the PUROBOT MAX PRO where the previous litter box was located, using the same type of litter. Mix a scoop of the old litter with the new litter to maintain a familiar scent. Allow waste to accumulate gradually in the old box to ease the transition. To help your cat get accustomed to PUROBOT MAX PRO, gently guide them inside when needed. Be patient with sensitive cats that may take longer to adapt to the automatic litter box.
How does PUROBOT MAX PRO ensure my cat's safety?
PUROBOT MAX PRO is crafted with a patented anti-pinch structure to keep the entrance open at all times when the cylinder rotates to a specific angle. PUROBOT MAX PRO is equipped with 12 safety sensors, including advanced proximity and weight sensors. The cat litter box automatically pauses when a cat is nearby or inside the cylinder. Weight sensors ensure the cylinder remains still while your cat is inside until it exits.
Do I need to use PETKIT special waste bags?
Using incorrectly sized or overly thick trash bags might lead to machine abnormalities. Third-party waste bags might be too thick, preventing proper attachment to the ring and affecting the waste container's operation.
Will PUROBOT MAX PRO still work if the connection is lost?
Yes, even without a network connection, PUROBOT MAX PRO will operate according to your preset settings. However, the PETKIT app will not update litter box usage data when the network is lost.
How do I update my firmware?
PUROBOT MAX PRO firmware supports OTA (over-the-air) updates remotely, allowing for progressive releases and enhancements of new features. You will need to manually update your firmware through the PETKIT App.
How do I clean PUROBOT MAX PRO?
Remove the detachable components of PUROBOT MAX PRO first: the cylinder, magnetic side cover, cat litter remover, litter sifter, and cat litter pad. Then you can wash these components. Wipe the base of the main unit as needed. Do not rinse the base of the main unit with water. Make sure all parts of the products are completely dry before reassembly. I only write reviews on something is really bad. So this litter box is an anomaly. It’s way better than my previous experience with the “robot” one, which used to stop functioning randomly. It’s quiet, plenty of room for my large cats, and traps odors very efficiently. But the best part about it is I don’t have to do a thing and can “not clean” the litter for two weeks at a time with two cats. Another pretty neat feature is that Waze my Cats and knows which one is which and can also warned me of health issues. Pretty cool to see my kitten putting on pounds :) definitely buy this one over any competition
Yes I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a Potty like this. There are a lot out there that only use 2.4 WiFi but this one takes 5 WiFi so the setup is not so difficult. I have 2 cat's and only one will use it. But it is worth the money. And easy access built strong
Really awesome robot litter box. I already have a Litter Robot 4 and needed to add another litter box for our new cat. The Petkit definitely is my preference of the two devices because of the camera monitoring, more easily replaceable liners, and scent management. It’s really convenient to be able to monitor my cat remotely. I can make sure the cats aren’t being territorial of the litter box also watch for health indicators (eg kitten eating clumping litter, diarrhea, …). The Petkit app is a little less polished and cohesive looking than the Whisker app, but Petkit is more reliable, full featured, and useful. The Whisker notifications are a little spammy, like “litter robot interrupted”, or “cleaning complete”. The Petkit sends a useful summary like “Thomas used the litter box for 2 minutes, weight 11.1lb”. It just gives me a bit more information that is useful to know and observe any irregularities without tapping into the app. Petkit app is also a lot faster…. Whisker takes forever to load data and graphs.
I hold back a star because the Petkit still has some flaws. The entry is smaller so it is tedious to clean. Also, having to touch the litter sifter every time you clean it is gross… the Litter Robot can empty itself without you having to put a sift guard on and off. The Petkit app also has some UX (eg ads everywhere) and localization quirks (hard to understand settings menus) that make navigating the app a little less intuitive.
The Litter Robot 4 is not a perfect device either, so overall the Petkit is my preference of the two! The added technology and features outweigh the quirks. Petkit is dependable and useful, a highly automated litter box that controls odors, looks high tech / modern, and meaningfully improves my awareness of my pets health.
Unfortunately I can not leave a positive review as I received my litter box broken, and have not gotten an update on how to return it to get my money back. Very unfortunate as I have had a petkit litterbox that I loved before but this experience has not been positive.
Use litter box for around a month. In the beginning my cat refused to use it, but after a week he found the right way:) Litter box has a good size, I like that it is not a huge and easy to put where you want. Noise level is normal, the machine almost noiseless, only thing that makes noise is falling cat litter. Also I noticed that not a big capacity for litter but I can live with this, just need constant refill. I like that I can see all videos and monitor what cat did inside, especially good for cats who have some health problems. I think I need to mention that design is good, I like how it looks. Overall I’m happy about this purchase.
