FAQ
Does the water actually stay clean without a filter?
Yes, because the water never loops back. Most fountains recirculate the same water, which is why filters are needed to manage buildup over time. Eversweet Ultra removes the loop entirely. Fresh water flows from the clean tank into the tray. Used water drains straight into a separate waste tank. They never mix. If you use SpringFlow mode, water in the tray will circulate to keep it moving, but you can always drain and refill the tray automatically or on a set schedule.
What makes this the best filterless pet water fountain?
Most filterless fountains remove the filter but keep the recirculating pump, so the water still loops through the same path. Eversweet Ultra replaces the entire architecture. OneWay Mechanism, split clean and waste tanks, AI health monitoring, and a self-cleaning tray. No filterless fountain offers all of that together.
How does it tell my cats apart? Do I need to train it?
Just add each pet's profile in the PETKIT app with a photo. The 140° AI camera learns to recognize each one from there, no additional training required. It supports up to 15 pets in one household.
How long does the 5L tank actually last with multiple cats?
For a single cat, up to 14 days. For two cats, roughly 7 to 10 days. Depending on how much each cat drinks. The transparent tank and app refill reminder mean you'll always know before it runs out.
How often do I need to empty the waste tank?
It really depends on your pet's drinking habits. If they drink quickly, you may rarely need to empty it at all. For slower drinkers or households that prefer fresh tray water more often, most single-cat homes drain it every 3 to 5 days. The PETKIT app sends an alert when the waste tank is full, so you never have to guess.
Do I need the CUBE to use the fountain?
Cube C is a structural component of the fountain and must remain installed at all times. It comes included in the box. Replacement every 30 days is recommended for optimal water quality, but the fountain continues to function beyond that period.
How often do I replace the CUBE?
We recommend replacing Cube C every 30 days for the best water quality. The fountain continues to function past that point, but replacing it on schedule ensures optimal performance. Simply swap the old one out when you're ready.
Will it spill or overflow?
No. The tray water level is monitored by AI camera continuously and only refills when it drops below 220ml, stopping automatically once full. The 1.8L waste tank holds used water between drain cycles without overflow. You'll also get a notification in the PETKIT app when it's time to drain.
Is it easy to clean?
Very. Three parts need regular cleaning: the fountain outlet, the magnetic strainer, and the water tray. All three are dishwasher safe. Pop them off, rinse or run them through the dishwasher, and snap them back on. For a deeper clean, pour boiling water into the tray to activate deep clean mode. That's genuinely everything.
How loud is it? Will this pet water fountain wake me up at night?
Generally no. EverSweet Ultra runs at 26dB, roughly the level of a whisper, and most owners forget it's on. During flushing and refilling cycles, it will be a little louder since the water needs enough force to clear out fur and buildup. We'd suggest placing it outside the bedroom if you're a light sleeper.
Can I see how much water is left in the clean tank?
Yes. The clean tank is transparent so you can check the water level at a glance. There's also a built-in indicator light that turns red when the level gets low - could be hard to miss. You can customize lighting when it triggers in the PETKIT app, which will also send you a refill reminder at the same time.
Does the water ever smell or go stale?
Much less than a traditional fountain. Because used water is immediately isolated in a separate tank, there's no stagnant loop building up bacteria over time. We do recommend keeping the fountain at room temperature and away from direct sunlight to get the best results.
Can I use this pet water fountain without the app?
Yes. The touch panel has a drain button and refill button for quick access. That said, we recommend pairing it with the PETKIT app to get the most out of it, including AI pet recognition, hydration tracking, and smart alerts.

I absolutely love this fountain. The camera lets me check in on my cat while I’m away, and it’s really reassuring to see that they’re actually drinking water. It’s super quiet, easy to clean, and the app is simple to use. Definitely more expensive than a regular fountain, but for me it’s been worth every penny.
With this fountain i can know which cats drink water or not and can check the camera around there too , can see the cats and what they do . I love it. It’s easy to clean and don’t need to buy filters anymore. I bought a lot of products from PETKIT and will be supporting them in the future

I've tried a few pet fountains over the years, and honestly, I thought they'd all reached the point where there wasn't much left to improve. Turns out I was wrong.
The PETKIT EverSweet Ultra does something that made me go, "Why hasn't anyone done this before?" Instead of endlessly recycling the same water, it keeps fresh water coming into the drinking tray while the used water drains away. It's one of those ideas that's so obvious once you see it that you wonder why every fountain doesn't work this way.
I also didn't think I'd care about the camera, but now I check it way more than I expected. It's fun catching my cats sneaking over for a drink, and it's actually pretty useful to know who's drinking and when. If you have more than one pet, it's surprisingly nice to see their habits without playing detective.
Another thing I appreciate is that it doesn't feel like it was designed by someone who enjoys making cleaning difficult. Taking it apart is straightforward, and the automatic flushing feature helps keep everything fresh without me having to constantly think about it. Less scrubbing, more couch time.
My cats took to it almost immediately, which is probably the toughest review that matters. They drink more often, and I have a little more peace of mind knowing they're getting fresh water instead of the same bowl circulating all day.
Is it the cheapest fountain out there? Definitely not. But it also doesn't feel like just another pet gadget with Wi-Fi slapped on it. There are actual thoughtful improvements here that make a difference day to day.
Bottom line: my cats are happy, I'm doing less maintenance, and I get to spy on them being adorable once in a while. I'd call that money well spent.

I've had this fountain now for several weeks. Out of the box, the fountain did not function properly. It continuously refilled until I had to empty and refill the tanks within one day. I emailed customer service, never got an email respond, the next day I contacted customer service via the app chat. They took some information from the back of my machine and it downloaded an update to the software. The fountain functioned properly for several days after that. Then I turned on the auto flush. Apparently, that went off in the middle of the night, and frightened my siamese cat. She was loving the fountain, but won't go near it anymore. Additionally, the refill began malfunctioning again. I cleaned up the fountain, and it worked properly again for about a day, then the refill kept going off every two minutes again. I emptied the waste water and filled the tank, unplugging it a while to get it to reset again. This cycle repeated again the next day. This time I turned off all the auto features. It appears to work properly, but if I try to use the auto features, it begins to malfunction until I clean and reset it. So, I love the fountain, but it doesn't function properly. Maybe mine is a lemon. Customer service told me they would email me, but that has yet to happen. Luckily, one of my cats still uses it.
I really love this fountain! It has been a game-changer for my household. 3 of my 4 cats took to it immediately, which is pretty impressive. My holdout kitty still won’t come near it (I think she’s scared of the noises), but I knew there was no way all 4 girls would be happy with it. Such is cat life lol As a fountain, it works perfectly. It’s very easy to clean and refill and the water tank is large enough to last almost a week in my house. I highly recommend it for any cat owner. I did give it 4 stars instead of 5 because I don’t think the AI stuff is very good or worth it. I like having the camera to make sure they are getting water and such, but the facial recognition is not very good and basically never works. It’s not necessary for the functionality of the fountain, which is fine, but I’m sure it drives the cost up. A more affordable version without the AI stuff would be great. Bottom line, it’s a great fountain for clean, fresh water for most kitties. Low maintenance and no icky filters. Would buy again.
I love this water fountain. There’s no filters that you have to Hope catch the debris in the water. This hold a lot of water my cats love it!!! It’s nice to see my girls drinking enough water. Before it was really hard to get them to drink water. With only having access to fresh water they don’t try to take the fountain apart.
Great features But... it says my dog appears but does not drink even tho he does after he eats, it then alerts me of abnormal drinking habits which is incorrect as i watch him drink. Other than that I love the self cleaning features. But overall its bad if the purpose of it is to monitor drinking health but cant do it consistently.
My cats love this water fountain!! I don’t think I have seen them drink more water than they have with this!!! My girl cat is always drinking water out of it we used to have a cup of water for her now she just uses the water fountain. It’s also soooo easy to clean no small parts to take apart just a few simple pieces and I highly recommend this to anyone. I also love the little fountain cube that comes with it I just wish they had more options for the cubes cause the little flyer that was in the box some of those would come in handy!!
I was stoked to get this new pet fountain for my cats. After years of fountains with filters and slimy water, I was really looking forward to having a fountain that gave them fresh, clean water. I choose this fountain so I could keep tabs on my 8 cats and which ones were getting enough water.
However, I've spent hours trying to get it to connect to my WiFi. I've contacted support multiple times and they give a list of things to try. I've moved it closer to the router, turned off the 5 GHz WiFi to force it to connect to 2.4 GHz, added the MAC address so it would recognize the device, checked blocked MAC addresses to see if it's listed and turned off cellular to force it to connect to the WiFi on my phone. I have yet to figure out how to get it connected to my home WiFi. I was able to connect it to my phone hotspot, which is only useful when I'm home and standing close enough. I'm not employed in IT, but consider myself fairly tech savvy. I've always been able to figure out how to get things connected eventually, but I've never encountered a device that has been this difficult to connect. I'm still optimistic that I can figure it out, but very disappointed in the tech support that has been far less then helpful in getting it connected to use its full capabilities. It's a really good fountain in a lot of other ways and my cats seem to enjoy it, but for the price point and the trouble 've had using all of its functions I'm second guessing whether it was worth the purchase. If l can get it connected I'd definitely say it was worth the money.
Our cats have used several water fountains that are now in the trash. Spent much money and time buying filters and cleaning slime using them. Our cat with diabetes kept having runny stools and throwing up several times a week. (already being treated by a vet at a cost of $170 a month.) From first use of the EverSweet Ultra, neither cat has been sick and they drink much more water. Ever-time it’s cleaned, I wonder why every cat doesn’t have one of these. My applause to the designer(s). With the two year warranty I could not be happier. My wife hears that several times a day. I haven't had this water fountain long, but my cats took to it right away! I have 3 cats and it's nice to know that all of them are drinking on a regular basis, especially when I'm not home. When the tray empties, it startles them a little, but not enough to discourage use.
The water flow has already quit working after a week of using it. Way to expensive for it to not work anymore.
Beat pet water fountain out there, and I’ve owned many! Our cats are drinking more water, it is fresh and not recycled like most fountains. Love the AI and camera features! It also monitors the water levwl and periodically refills, flushes, drains, and refills to provide clean, clear water for cats and small dogs.

Keeps Kitty with fresh water in these hot and muggy days.
I've only been using the EverSweet Ultra with Camera Pet Water Fountain for a couple of weeks now but I really like it. It's nice to see which of my pets is drinking and how much they're drinking. I'm interested to see how long it holds up as I've had issues in the past with other PetKit water fountains. I took off a star because I currently have two concerns. 1st, it doesn't always recognize each pet even though I've added their profile picture. I have to keep going in and updating the log. It's very frustrating having to do it several times a day. 2nd, the PETKIT Care+ keeps popping up for me to sign up for it but I have yet to find a price. Also, I don't understand why I would have a need to store the videos of my pets drinking water. I prefer to monitor them daily so I can understand when their drinking habits change. And the fact that I would only be able to use it on one device (I also have two automated cat feeders) doesn't sit well with me.
My main driver in purchasing this unit was the clean/dirty tank system. There was another slightly less expensive unit (another brand) I was considering, but reading various reviews and reports on that product's quality, etc., I opted for the Petkit unit.
That said, I really like it thus far. So...the camera thing, I mean, it's pretty fun, anyway. The software, little video clips, all that...it has some recognition software in the app that mostly (!) identifies which cat is which. But really, it's just fun and my kids got a kick out of seeing them come up and drink. It does show a report of 'this many drinks yesterday', and I suppose in a perfect world it would additionally tell me per pet based on recognition, how much each are drinking individually. I haven't dug in that much but don't think that's currently a feature.
That said, the reason I really like it is just its design and usage. The fresh water tank, super easy to remove and fill, dirty water tank, same, and they're both very fast and easy to clean. The stainless drinking tray really does stay considerably cleaner than any other cat fountain I've used before. There are automatic and manual settings to rinse, empty, etc., really all pretty great in that way. Do the cats drink more? Not sure. But it sure does stay a ton cleaner than others I've owned.
And as advertised, it is extremely quiet. When it cycles in water, rinses, all that stuff, it's very fast and reasonably quiet, and under ordinary just water flowing use, you can really barely hear it.
So yeah, thus far I'm a fan, and I guess we'll see as for the long haul durability, but I'm optimistic, given the build quality of the entire unit, everything fits really well, looks good, operates pretty much perfectly...so time will tell as to how long stuff like the pump lasts. A month in or something I'm calling it a really solid purchase, highly recommended.
We’ve been running the fountain for about a week. My 13 yo cat is a little afraid of it, and he did try it out a couple times. But, the kitten I have been fostering absolutely loves it. It’s just the right height for her to get a drink without playing in it, and she seems fascinated by the bubbler. Once the kitten is adoptable, I’m going to give the fountain to my daughter for her cat.
Great product! Cats love it and drink plenty of water after getting used to it after about a week. Will continue to support this great company.
